LISTEN UP: Lyrics to Kanye West's 'New Slaves'

LISTEN UP!

[Verse 1]
My mama was raised in an era when/Clean water was only served to the fairer skin
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help/But they wouldn’t be satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see its broke nigga racism/That's that "don't touch anything in the store"
And there’s rich nigga racism/That's that "come in and buy more"
What you want a Bentley, fur coat and diamond chain?/All you blacks want all the same things
Used to only be niggas /Now everybody play me
Spending everything on that Alexander Wang/New Slaves
[Hook]
You see it's leaders and it's followers/But I'd rather be a dick than a swallower
You see it's leaders and it's followers/But I'd rather be a dick than a swallower
[Verse 2]
I throw these Maybach keys/I wear my heart on my sleeve
I know that we the new slaves/I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves/I see the blood on the leaves
I know that we the new slaves/I see the blood on the leaves
They throwing hate at me/Want me to stay at ease
Fuck you and your corporation/Y'all niggas can't control me
I know that we the new slaves/I know that we the new slaves
I'm about to wild the fuck out/I'm going Bobby Boucher
I know that pussy ain't free/You niggas pussy, ain't me
Y’all throwing contracts at me/You know that niggas can’t read
Throw him some Maybach keys/Fuck it, c’est la vie
I know that we the new slaves/Y'all niggas can't fuck with me
Y'all niggas can't fuck with Ye/Y'all niggas can't fuck with Ye
I move my family out the country /So you can’t see where I stay
So go and grab the reporters/So I can smash their recorders
Yeah they confuse us with bullshit/Like the New World Order
Meanwhile the DEA/Teamed up with the CCA
They tryna lock niggas up/They tryna make new slaves
See that's that private-owned prison/Get your piece today
They prolly all in the Hamptons/Braggin' 'bout they maid
Fuck you and your Hampton house/I'll fuck your Hampton spouse
Came on her Hampton blouse/And in her Hampton mouth
Y'all 'bout to turn shit up/I'm 'bout to tear shit down
I'm 'bout to air shit out/Now what the fuck they gon' say now?

BA Ft. Candace Price - #HeyCiara

Ciara definitely got it right with her Body Party single, and the visual featuring her boo Future only made it that much better. But they could have kept that Body Party Remix, featuring B.o.B. Instead get familiar with two Chicago natives who did their own remix to the Billboard hit.

Rapper @BAdams23 (who also lends a few vocals) and singer @CandyIsAStar2 bring us Hey Ciara. The two have worked together before on Serendipity, and I think this may be Part II (hence the flashback) So it was only right the two link up for another visual. And can't forget to mention the woman behind the camera, @KPology1. Her work is only getting better, and she is definitely the go-to-woman for visuals in the Chicago area.

Love Life.

The Bible IS Confusing.

The bible is confusing, and difficult to read. I know. But if you're truly seeking GOD, you have to open it at some point. Before you begin, pray for truth and understanding. I promise it'll make all the difference. Start from the beginning, and read it all the way through. Yes, start with the Old Testament. Don’t over-analyze every verse, or pick every chapter apart. Don’t tattoo it on your bicep to prove you've read it. Just read. Then read it again. Read often. You'll find answers you've been seeking. You'll find life, clarity, peace, and direction. Remember it will be confusing, I know the reason for me, was I've been misled But questioning is the starting point. Ask Him to reveal His truth.

Hidden Gems: Dana A Capella Series

If you don't know who Dana is, I'm introducing you to her right now. I came across her A Capella series on FamousJ.Net, and fell in love with her voice. These visuals are so simple, and subtle, yet amazing. I have yet to choose my favorite. And it's a pretty clever, and different way to lead up to the release of her EP, which I 'm really looking forward to. Check some of her visuals out, and see what you think. Her voice is jazzy, and soulful; so it may be an acquired taste.

Four Eyes Are Better Than Two.

Four eyes are better than two right?

I've been forced to join the nerd club against my will, and well it's actually not that bad. Once I realized things just aren't clear as they used to be, I thought it was the end of the world. I was that person who told everyone I would never ever wear glasses. Nope, not I. But, well... I grew up. Lol And turns out my one of eyes can see well far, and the other close, so they're competing with each other, stressed and basically confused as hell. Which most likely is contributing to my migraines. (Lesson learned: Have problems with migraines, and headaches? Get an eye exam.) Vision truly is a blessing that we take for granted until it starts to decline. Never before have I had to wear glasses, contacts, anything, and now well... you see. I definitely will say it's taking some getting used to. Now I'm not a very self-conscious person, but with these glasses on... let's just say I'm having to learn to love them.

Acid Rap Hidden Track - 'Paranoia'

At the end of the Chicago AcidRap mixtape is a secret track, called 'Paranoia.' The track is a collaboration with LA producer Nosaj Thing as part of the 'Songs From Scratch' series. If it sounds a lot similar, it's because it's actually the second half of Chance’s “Pusha Man”. Real music lovers can spot the differences tho'. Take a listen, then watch the masterminds actually write, and record the track here.
