Beyonce Bowl or Super Bowl XLVII?

UPDATE:  Did Beyonce's halftime performance live up the hype? If you know me, you already know what I think. Uh May Zing!

Performing a medley of her hits - "Love on Top," "Crazy in Love," "End of Time," and "Baby Boy"," she was then joined by Kelly and Michelle! Eeek. (I really didn't like the "Halo" song choice, but whatever.)

The Destiny's Child reunion began with "Bootylicious," then "Independent Woman" and then "Single Ladies." But can we talk about what she wore. I don't think people realize how gorgeous her one-piece was. To one it's just a black, and lace bodysuit, but look closer. That's python, lace, leather, and silk. Werk!

Before Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers faced off in the Superdome, Jennifer Hudson and children from Sandy Hook Elementary sang “America The Beautiful” and Alicia Keys followed by singing the “Star Spangled Banner."

Watch both of the performances below...

This afternoon Beyonce opened up the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show Press Conference [pause: When did they start giving entertainment press conferences?] in one of the smartest ways a singer-criticized-for-lip-syncing could.

With an American flag backdrop, Beyonce shut everyone up with her live acappella rendition of the National Anthem. Then asked, “Any Questions?”.  Oop.

During the conference, Bey admitted to lip-syncing at the Inauguration, saying,

"I am a perfectionist. One thing about me is that I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show. A very emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper soundtrack, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the Inauguration and I wanted to make him proud so I decided to sing along to my pre-recorded track which is very common in the industry and I’m very proud of my performance."

She then announced she'll definitely be singing live at the Super Bowl, "I am well rehearsed. This is what I was born to do. What I am born for."

EEEK. I'm actually excited for the Super Bowl halftime show this year. Usually they're never very entertaining, or memorable. Despite Janet Jackson's. ^_^.

Yes Yes Yes! BeyoncĂ© slayeddd her performance of the National Anthem during the 2013 Presidential Inauguration.
Today, President Barack Obama was officially sworn into the White House for his second term, on Martin Luther King's holiday, with his hand on MLK's bible. Amazing.
The inauguration wasn't as emotional as the swearing in four years ago, but the passions were still high. Obama's speech was very progressive, rooted in moving forward, and hope while remembering the past trials. Very different than his speech in 2008.
I loved the entertainment selections, especially the chior, and  Kelly Clarkson's ‘My Country, ‘Tis of Thee’ and of course BeyoncĂ©'s The Star Spangled Banner.’

Enjoyed the post, I watched the inauguration also. I loved Bey, but Kelly Clarkson gave me chills. I've been sleeping on Kelly.

Well, actually Carrie Underwood is the most successful American Idol, Kelly just holds the very first spot...
