What is OFWGKTA?

In the past month, Odd Future has been taking over Twitter, well at least on my timeline. They've also done a short documentary-esque flick with MTV, featured in Billboard mag, performed on Jimmy Fallon's show, and are all over the blog sites. So I decided to check them out, and now they’re basically all I’ve been listening to lately.  Tweeting a lot about them, people have asked “is their music worth downloading. Aren’t they apart of the illuminati? Don’t they worship the devil, Are they just a phase of music? I just don’t understand them”….blah blah blah.

Basically, you either LOVE or HATE their music, it’s that simple. They are extreme, and say things that are nowhere near politically correct. They’re young, and emotionally unstable, but it’s real, which is better than the fake personals that mainstream artists have adopted.

But their sound and style in so IN YOUR FACE that after, well, while listening, you’re just like “did he really just say that?” It’s almost similar to Eminem, especially when Eminem first came out and he was rapping about crazy ish, and Odd Future raps about .  You won’t like their music if your uber-religious, for these guys are Atheist, and their music reflects that.

So what is OFWGKTA, who are they?  They’re a group of talent, point blank. Hodgy BeatsEarl SweatshirtDomo Genesis and Mike G are rappers, Frank Ocean sings and producers Left Brain, Syd and The Super 3.

I like Tyler, The Creator the most, he has the most distinct voice, and lyricism is…is amazing, reminds me a lot of Kanye West. Frank Ocean is also one of my favorites because unlike the other guys he sings, he’s definitely underrated, and proof that R&B is still alive. And his mixtape, Nostalgia, Ultra is A M A Z I N G. So if the whole dark, wild, extreme, blunt sounds of Odd Future, EarlWolf or MellowHype is not your cup of tea, than definitely download that! He’s also a songwriter, and even working with BEYONCE!

Regardless if you agree with the approach the group has taken, the talent is evident.

Never Jaded featured in Ford Entertainment Magazine.

Shoutout to Lady Chelle of FordEntMag for reprinting my most recent interview, featuring The H.A.W.G.S in their March issue. This is a big step for NeverJaded, and my first time getting my writing published. :D So this is exciting!

Love. Lust. Infatuation.

Love. A passionate affection for another person
Lust. Intense sexual desire
Infatuation. Extreme fondness, admiration for another person marked by foolishness.

By definition, I feel like I'm going through all three of these, AT ONCE! Is that even possible? I don't like this, I don't know how to deal with it. Grr. They say when you fall TOO fast, the love doesn't last. Eh.

This whole first time of really falling for someone is taking a toll on my emotions. I feel all extra girly, and typical. Eh. I think thats why I been at they gym like every day this week, I'm trying to feel like my heartless, tomboy, never-wears-her-heart on-her-sleeve self. And being in the gym, with the bros makes me feel secure, gets my mind off of everything. Smh.

I'm an emotional train-wreck, but no one will ever know, well except for you all now, but by appearance, no one would ever assume there's an internal roller coaster I've been riding. -_-

If Aaliyah was still alive.

Here recently there is a lot of talk asking whether or not Beyonce would be as big as she is today, if Aaliyah was still alive. And I'm here to say yes, she would. Why? Because Beyonce is THAT female, and her drive is too strong, which is why she's at the top now. That said, if Aaliyah was still alive, those two would be at the top, neck to neck. No other female artist can compare to those two. Their vocal abilities are incomparable, becoming ICONS of music, their performances legendary, they can sing, dance, act, write, the talent is unmistakable. And all the while, they both are so humble. I adore Beyonce, I look up to her actually for that. Beyonce lives the life of a celebrity without letting the fame ruin her life, her relationships, her image. She only lets the people know what she wants them to know, how often do you hear her name negatively, or her responding to negative comments. Thats what I love about her, she is so driven and goal-oriented. Same with Aaliyah, however we didn't get the chance to see her bloom into a international star as Beyonce is now, but no doubt she would be. Forever will we play their albums, sing their songs, and watch their movies. Regardless, they're both icons, music legends, and a symbol of true beauty, both inside and out.

Taming the beast.

i just want you all to get a glance at the beast I had to deal with today. Usually, I keep my hair straight because ...well that over there comes alive. Lol. My hair in its natural state its very curly, and very big. I love it, I love natural hair, but its a struggle. Idk why i'm doing a post on this, but hey it's being done. *shrugs* This is actually my second year without having a relaxer, or perm whatever you want to call it, and my hair is pretty healthy, and growing, despite the countless amount of times I've colored it.A couple times I really want to go down to the hair shop and buy a perm, but I have to stop myself, and resist the urge Lol. So when people say" coloring your hair damages your hair, or it'll fall out" it's a lie, it CAN damage your hair, BUT as long as you take care of it, with oils, and what not, you'll be A-Okay. And when you color your hair, MAKE SURE you WAIT to get a perm. That's what damages it!

Sidenote: I recommended Africans Best Carrot Oil, it's amazing! It's all I use, along with African Best Pink Moisturizer, and ...wait for it... Vaseline! A lot of people are surprised when I tell them this, but my hair just eats up [Blue Magic] grease, and I've found Vaseline does wonders.

But anyways, that is all. Back to online shopping, I'm TRYING to find a prom dress, and I'm having ZERO luck. -____-

J.Cole Concert.

If you ever get the chance to go to a J.Cole concert, definitely go. Last night my friends and I headed down to Mizzou for the J.Cole concert and overall it was great.

Now, his two opening acts, one from KC and the other from STL, them...well yeah, not so much. Everyone in the crowd was on their phones, anxiously awaiting J.Cole. But I'll give it to the STL rapper, he got the crowd hype; a much better performer than the other.

When J. Cole finally came out, the females obviously went crazy, one girl even handed her panties to him, who picked them up in disgust, saying "oh, wow."

He brought a female up there also... sidenote: anytime you go to a concert and a female is brought on stage, givr her three seconds max before she'll turn while dancing trying to twerk on the artists, and he'll back up like "nahhh." Lmao.....anyways but yeah that was cool, she did her thing up there.

He performed for no longer than a hour, which everyone complained about, since Wale and B.o.B performed longer last time they were here. He did songs from "Friday Night Lights" and "The Warm-up" and I was surprised at how many people could actually sing along with him, so that was dope. His DJ was ill too, so shout-out to him.

Also, he made clear he's a rapper WITH A DEGREE, which should have sent a message to all these males today, who yearn for a spot in the rap game, and push school to the side.

Only negative thing of the night, was the way he ended, if you turned ya back you would've been like "where'd he go, he was just there." He had no encore performance, just slapped a few hands and dipped.

I didn't get to take any pics, I was too into the music, and clownin with everyone around. Lol but my guy Darnell had a couple, so there's one I liked. But yeah, it was a great show. I've been a J.Cole fan since after hearing "The Warmup," but after the show he's definitely one of my top five rappers.

J. Cole concert this weekend.

Hey guys, how is everything? Hopefully all is well. I haven't really blogged with anything about my life, and a few couple people were actually curious, so thought I'd do a little update.

I've actually been pretty sick this past week, I didn't know if it was the flu or what, but then I started getting really bad migraines, and I've never gotten migraines before, so the feeling was like death to me, even to the point where I'd start crying. It was horrible. But I went to the doctor and they really didn't tell me anything, as doctors tend to do -_- but gave me a whole bunch of drugs, so I'm good, well getting better. Lol

This weekend is going to be live. Friday, my high school boys team play at MU for the Final Four game, hopefully they win State this year, they definitely have the talent to. Fri night is my homegirls birthday get together, Sat night too. But Saturday night is the J. Cole concert, and me and my friends are going. I'm beyond excited. I love him, and finally my friends want to go. B.O.B, Wiz, and Wale came last year, but none of my friends ever wanted to go, so this time they all said yes! I'm already preparing for the ratchetry that'll be displayed this weekend. The inner groupie is going to be released from EVERYONE, and niggas going to be choosin to the max. SMH. Hopefully I remember to take lots of pics, I always tend to forget to do that. Silly me. But I'm sure I'll have many stories to tell afterward. But I have school in the AM, so good night. :-*
